Describe a time when someone offended you with their words.

Prompt Response : A time when someone offended me with words is when they spoke about how I looked. I don't think they were intentionally trying to hurt my feelings but the way they were speaking  and pointing out things about me that made me feel a little bit insecure. 

Summary :  Today in class we worked on a poem for black history month, with the poem we thought of words that are offensive to us and how they make us feel. After reading the poem we went onto illuminate and answered two questions, one we had too just add a word from our list to the sentence " He poked out his tongue and called me ... " and the other we had to make a paragraph telling what happened after this and how I may have felt. 

Reflection : From this lesson today I learned about how much words actually have an impact on me, I also learned how to use the word and provide it with a deeper meaning from my own experiences.

Prompt Response : Moving from my home town has always been a difficult thing for me to handle. As a kid i loved Alabama, it was somewhere i felt safe, somewhere i could do what I wanted and not have to feel suffocated by negative energy. I did not want to leave my family to create a new one with my mom and her boyfriend. Then as I grew older I realized how good of a decision it was. I realize that Alabama was so small and had nothing benefiting my life. Now I am open to many more opportunities.   Summary : Today in class we worked on a one pager, for the Ambush story that we all read on Monday.  Reflection : I learned from today's class how to successfully read and find the quotes, context for themes and vocab words as well. Writing the prompt also gave me a chance to think about my life and how it has expanded throughout the years.

 Today in class we did 10 discussion questions about the story we all read, and if we didn't we had time to finish our presentations on the mural so we could then present Friday.  Today's lesson was easy and quick, so I liked today's assignment.

 Today in class we finished the creating claims assignment, that we started yesterday. From this lesson I learned how to write and create a claim for and against a topic. I will use this method when our next writing assignment comes up, or even if we have one in general.  IM HUNGRYYYY !!!!!
