If you were President of the United States of America, what are 5 things that you would do and why?

 Prompt Response : 1 . Make the stalls in Female and Male bathrooms private - I feel like it´s weird to have a crack in the stall door, and it´s much safer. 2. Close down most of the Mental Hospitals - I do not feel like mental hospitals really help the people that need it, instead they use them as a way to make profit and expand their names  3. Ban any type of harmful chemicals in food - introducing a way to eat healthier and spread more awareness of the harmful chemicals in the food we eat  4. Find ways to better global warming - The more we put bad things into the earth the worse it comes back on us, so cleaning up and doing things to limit the harmful take on the earth can better the future  5. Help and support the countries that are less fortunate and in crisis - Making decent allies and coming up with peace treaties can impact the outcome of the success for america, 

Summary : Today in class we didn't do anything that was really class related but we did have to learn about President Carter so we did a Newsela assignment on him. 

Reflection: From today I learned about a President I didn't know too much about, and I also worked on my quiz skills.

  Today in class we took a test on origin myths, basically to wrap up what we learned within the first unit. Then after we were able to work on the presentations if we did not finish something.   While taking this test, I was able to notice and realize things i may have not known and some things that could refresh my memory. This test did indeed have some challenging questions but what made it easier was me being able to go back and re-read or being able to refer in my head to earlier times to see if i maybe remember something. This test and the lessons that I learned this unit can even help me with maybe future activity´s etc.      I liked the task for today because it was really chill and quiet. I was able to get work done for another class and finish my groups presentation.

Write about a place you never wanted to leave.

Prompt Response : Moving from my home town has always been a difficult thing for me to handle. As a kid i loved Alabama, it was somewhere i felt safe, somewhere i could do what I wanted and not have to feel suffocated by negative energy. I did not want to leave my family to create a new one with my mom and her boyfriend. Then as I grew older I realized how good of a decision it was. I realize that Alabama was so small and had nothing benefiting my life. Now I am open to many more opportunities.   Summary : Today in class we worked on a one pager, for the Ambush story that we all read on Monday.  Reflection : I learned from today's class how to successfully read and find the quotes, context for themes and vocab words as well. Writing the prompt also gave me a chance to think about my life and how it has expanded throughout the years.

Matayzha´s Aug 28th Blog post

 Today in class we took notes on the poem, ¨ Heart ! We will forget him ! ". This is another Emily Dickinson poem that we analyzed and broke down. Then we completed an activity to go with it, we had to draw things that represented both the mind and the heart then describe the two.     I learned from this lesson that having a healthy relationship is important and being able to start over is okay. I learned that it is hard to get over a person you loved, but if you keep trying and trying then you may forget the love you still had for that person. In class today it was kind of like learning a life lesson and then learning how to get over it and remain positive.  I liked today ´ s lesson because it was kind of like learning about life and how relationships can impact my life more than i think, but if i learn to get over it and continue doing what makes me happy i will be fine.
