Matayzha´s Sep 4th Blog Post

Today in class first we started with a poem by Emily Dickinson called " I felt a Funeral, in my Brain ". We analyzed the poem and also wrote notes about the poem, this poem focused on mental illness. Then later in class we started an assessment on Emily Dickinson quotes. We had to basically break them down.

From this lesson today i learned that mental illness is an important component of our lives, knowing your mental state is very important. If a person does not focus on their mental health they start to feel depressed or as if they are losing their mind. Before starting the poem, we asked the question " Can you feel when you are losing your mind ? ". As i thought about this question, i realized that it is really hard to get your insanity back once it is lost. Once you lose your mind, you lose yourself, and trying to bring a balance back into your mental routine may seem hard once you're distracted by that depression. Then i learned how to analyze and break down a quote to understand the better meaning of it.

I liked this lesson because i was able to understand the importance of mental health more and I learned how to break down a quote .
